Age 3+ – information:

All over 3s are entitled to 15 hours free childcare per week (term time) starting from the school term after they turn 3 years old. More info on the website. You can redeem these hours at private nurseries and childminders (most will give you a discount off full-time hours, for instance), state school nurseries and drop-off playgroups.

School nurseries:

Click for information for Wandsworth Council and Merton Council. They have different application processes – briefly: Wandsworth state school nurseries require you to apply directly, and generally have September intake and waiting lists for spaces in January and April. Merton state school nurseries have an online application process via the council website and have intakes in September, January, and April as children become eligible.

(drop-off, fixed commitment of 2-3 mornings a week for example, for ages 2+ – all offer the 15 hours per week places for eligible 3 year olds, some with the option for paying for extra hours and/or paying for places for younger children)
