Once you’ve been given the all-clear from your GP to exercise (usually a minimum 6-8 weeks after birth, whenever you feel ready after that), these outdoor classes are a great way to regain your fitness, get some fresh air, and meet local mums without having to think about childcare and while being able to stop and feed your baby if necessary. Classes allow you to work at your own pace. Classes may offer pay-as-you-go rates and packages, click on the links below to find out more about what’s on in and around Tooting.

Our reviewer says: “Fiona came to my home to perform reflexology on me at 41 weeks pregnant. As well as being one of the most relaxing treatments I’ve ever had, I went into labour shortly after the treatment finished! Highly recommended!”

Touch Therapies
Suzie – local mum and massage and reflexology therapist – based in Fallsbrook Road, Furzedown or at the Feel Good Balham salon. Info online: www.touch-therapies.net or email suzannah@touch-therapies.net Our local reviewer in Furzedown says: “Suzie is fab! I have been going to see her for 5/6yrs as she is the best masseuse I have encountered. She does a great relaxation massage, amazing pregnancy massage (some can be very wishy washy) and a more specific massage for any aches and pains you may have, which sees results and is enjoyable at the same time. She knows exactly how to find the underlying pain.”   Healing Energy Local mum Maria is using the new health and wellbeing space at 165 Tooting High Street (accessed via Route to Juice) to provide treatments including Indian Head Massage, Reiki and Acupuncture.

If you and a friend are struggling to find time for treatments, Maria offers 20% off two treatments booked together to help provide a childcare solution – take turns having your treatment and looking after each other’s babies in the spacious back room (books/toys provided).   She also works with Emily Oliver to provide Mindfulness courses in Furzedown.
