(1) Face-To-Face Baby Massage Classes:
The full 4 week baby massage course:
Over the weeks we slowly build up to a full body massage sequence so that parents/carers and babies can get used to the new sensations and techniques. Helps with bonding, improves attachment, and provides relief and comfort. It’s also an opportunity to meet with and make connections with other parents/carers with babies of a similar age.
Week 1 – Legs & Feet
Week 2- Tummy & Refresh of Legs and Feet
Week 3 – Chest & Arms
Week 4 – Face & Back – & Refresh on any/all strokes
(2) ONLINE Baby Massage Options:
(a) Massage – For Colic & Gas Relief – (30 Min single Session)
Massage for the relief of Colic, Gas, Constipation, and Tummy Pain. This routine when practiced daily, helps to strengthen abdominal muscles, and the daily movements of this area helps to loosen and make room, and may provide some relief from these debilitating symptoms. The routine to be done when baby is not in pain. It is also advised if pain or discomfort continues to go to your health care provider for further advice and help to find what other underlying symptoms may be the cause of the pain.
(b) Massage – Short Daily Stretch. (30 Min single Session)
A shorter routine good for daily stretching of the limbs. This short routine can help relieve tension, and aid relaxation, and builds up the strength of the muscles in the limbs and chest. Especially helpful for when baby starts to roll over, and start to crawl. This routine helps babies to :
1. Increase body awareness. 2. Strengthen muscles. 3. Build muscle tone. 4. Increase range of motion. 5. Promote balance.
(c) Full Body Massage ONLINE – 4-Week Evening course (Weekdays: Thursdays 10am or 6.00-6.45pm).
Where either one or both parents can join in together and learn together.
Gain confidence in a new skill, learning safely to massage babies. Baby massage can help with Colic and Gas, digestive issues, improve muscle tone, calm unsettled babies (and parents!) and promote nurturing touch, and bonding – an all-round wonderful skill. We’ve been told babies sleep well after a massage session.
Giving parents/carers an opportunity to connect with other parents too, and hopefully form a supportive group for each other. After all the classes, Electronic PDF e-handouts of what was covered sent out by email.
